Hi Folks I realize I have had many a harsh word to say about Booksurge over the passed few years, however its time to eat crow!!! I recently published my latest book 'The Royal Navy & Me' thru Booksurge. Why Booksurge? well I shopped around and came to the conclusion they offered the best price, royalties and service. Plus the fact its probably better the devil you know! I was quite amazed by their service, it was easy and painless. Such an improvement over the last book I published thru them. The cost was a little over $400 US and the end product is excellent. It is already listed on several sites besides amazon. On top of this they came to my aid concerning the problems I was having with Bookforce in the UK (Booksurge had an agreement with them but severed it a couple of years ago) they were ignoring my emails and not paying the outstanding royalties due to me. Booksurge decided to paid the royalties owing because of their original involvement with Bookforce. So here I'm eating crow, I do believe in giving credit where credit is due, and today that credit goes to Booksurge. __________________ irishrover |

Glad to hear that XLibris is competitive now. Have you compared with Booksurge and Lulu? I have experienced major customer service problems with Booksurge, but I understand they have better pricing now that Amazon granted them a monopoly status (regardless of whether that was a fair decision). Perhaps, with Amazon pumping books into them, they can afford more CSR agents. Or maybe I misunderstand. __________________ Visit Author-Me.com today! |

That is good to know! I have used several of the other book publishing companies around for other books, but I am proud to call All New Horizons home! They have great packages unlike anyone else on the web! The basic package is free and they supply an ISBN!! I will have to take another look at booksurge to see what they offer for $400. For $400 All New Horizons gave me a website with free hosting and updates for one year!! __________________ ~Work As If Failure is Not Possible~ |

Booksurge are no more! they are now called Createspace and the service is very good. When I self published my last book 'The Royal Navy & Me'(200 pages) it cost me approximately $250 US that included a free copy, front cover design, ISBN, a spot on amazon, and a few other distribution companies. I receive monthly updates on sales and royalties. All in All a very smooth way to self publish IMHO __________________ irishrover |
