if i were a Genie i would give newbies three wishes

Three wishes of a Writer

My Three Wishes:
by jenny wren

doesn't this sound like a good idea, three wishes , what would I wish for:?
for what I have understood of it, but are the poems and the stories to have the three wishes inside them or included along with your entries ?
I would wish, that: when contests are offered to the writers of this site, that they would be written so that even a stupid jerk like me could understand, I would wave my magic wand and I would be able to read minds, about how things should be done, then maybe I could understand how this blasted system works now.... Genie that was just my number one wish)

now for number two
I would wish to actually take pen in hand and write
just 'one' poem that, each and every reviewer, would find satisfactory to their own personal taste, (I do believe that some reviewers would find faults and even suggest changes for the many words and meanings in websters dictionary, also, the the King James version of the Bible.) would it not be nice to have a real 'five,' (that is not put there by a friend), that an artist actually would have found that work of mine to be perfect, I mean an honest ' big five'.

I have worked on 'Mellisa's Sounds' since 1976 on mine and it is still, found with 'many fault', by some, making me misjudge myself, as a writer, (and I have written for 60 years and my readers in the newspapers are satisfied or they have kept up the biggest farce in all history, because I hear from people with tears in their voices and in their eyes, " that they read that poem and then even cut it out of the paper and saved it to read and share with loved ones later.", they have collected scrap books of them , yes, just plain common people, I guess are too easily satisfied, maybe because they are just regular people, and not so prone to check for mistakes, they seem to just take my poetry, as I gave it,simply at face value, just as the poems were written. after all, they are free. i have never in my life charges a thing for any of my poetry....
one can hardly find anything worthy of anything for free anymore. that is a desire and a wish....
that was number two.

Now for three
I would like to find a site, that is not after you at each and every turn, for upgrades, taking money for this or that, the starving artists, do not have, to fritter away., A site that is just pleased to find artists, that are willing to share with them, their labors of love, for free....
why do things have to always 'cost', to be thought worthy of anything?

There are some really good 'newbie writers' on here, at this time on Writing.com that I have read and really tried to assist with this point system, I told the heavenly Father God, "if You help me ot get the points, I will try to encourage your young writers and encourage them to write something worthy of reading." it is a slow process, trying to give them encouragement to keep on writing, when so many are finding fault. It is found in each writing in some of the reviews.. that hurt them so badly, that they hide their treasure away from prying evil hurtful words. or they simply give up, on the whole mess. it is a very thankless job that God gives to each of us, to do., the young and the old, in writing....

Then to get it published is another thing in itself., there is always the 'preying mantis type publisher,' who will stomp your toe, sure as your foot gets in the door of pulbishing. there are enough thiefs that they will keep your manuscripts and hang you, in suspension , until you are ready to choke them... The rejection slips pile up and only the wealthy or well known, or murderers. or rapist,. can get into print, but there is so much vanity in some of the writers. sometimes,it is even found in good works, that they fall for the bilge of having something published. no matter the cost, in my Long life, I have found that: if you have enough money, you could get a" hog-caller's manuel published" and make your pride overflow, like the slop bucket, that feeds the pigs....

The heart of a real writer that wants so to be read and understood.,,is just that , to have their work read and be understood by the reader.. the writer is easily hurt. ( and I am afraid I do not handle it very well, not being appreciated.) when I have laid my Soul, bare, for the whole world to see here, on this site., I guess my third wish would be: : for all people in the world totry to treat other people, like they, themselves would want others to treat them.. in the same boat, ..I thought this was a place of good will and that it was surely what I had searched for, for so very long, I was wrong. .....again./.there are cliques, I guess in all business and matters, it seems.there is no getting around it that would be my third wish. you see I have already had two books published and helped to build a fellowship hall for our church with the proceeds, God's poems for God's work. I was real pleased to discover that the pay did not come from there , it came from being accepted... and for being permitted to use the God given gift to work for Him to be a channel for His work to flow through... I can no more take any credit for any poem I write , or even this truth I have just written here, than an apple tree limb can take the credit for the apple that is pushed forth from it's source , to be enjoyed by another........
(here is an idea.,for someone, preferably you)
Why not try to make a contest, following simple guidelines that I have talked about above.
A contest that will be 'happy and will accept newbies, even if they screw up, in getting their [item:####} right or wrong, just encourage them, use the thing anyhow, how about joining me, in trying to help, instead of harming God's little ones. I wonder how many old writers have hidden away another "Gone with the wind.", that will no doubt, be thrown out witht he rest of the garbage, when He or She dies ?, to never know the light of day, because of reviewers, who tried to see ,who could write the most microscopic review., instead try reading, just what it is , the writer was tying to say,. then encourage instead of harming them..
"do unto others as you would have them do unto you.......... "
. jenny wren

Copyright 2003 jennywren

Eating Crow over Booksurge.

Hi Folks I realize I have had many a harsh word to say about Booksurge over the passed few years, however its time to eat crow!!! I recently published my latest book 'The Royal Navy & Me' thru Booksurge. Why Booksurge? well I shopped around and came to the conclusion they offered the best price, royalties and service. Plus the fact its probably better the devil you know! I was quite amazed by their service, it was easy and painless. Such an improvement over the last book I published thru them. The cost was a little over $400 US and the end product is excellent. It is already listed on several sites besides amazon. On top of this they came to my aid concerning the problems I was having with Bookforce in the UK (Booksurge had an agreement with them but severed it a couple of years ago) they were ignoring my emails and not paying the outstanding royalties due to me. Booksurge decided to paid the royalties owing because of their original involvement with Bookforce. So here I'm eating crow, I do believe in giving credit where credit is due, and today that credit goes to Booksurge.
What I mean by this is as follows I ask you, i.e. the advertiser, how much you would be willing to pay for an advert? (The advert can take up a whole page or less). I then establish group categories. i.e. a group of advertisers are willing to pay XXX for an advert. Another group are willing to pay XX for an advert. And a third group are willing to pay X for an advert. (XXX is the highest amount, X is the lowest amount). The charge for an advert becomes XX. That is fair to the advertisers and to myself. Obviously this is very good for the group who were willing to pay more. It also (of course) means that the group who were willing to pay least will not advertise. But this way I find out what a fair price for an advert is and thus keep most potential advertisers happy. I think that it is a very fair system. My research shows that those who are keenest on this system are writers of small self-published projects on the internet. This includes both forthcoming publications AND already published books that could sell some more with some targeted advertising.

I accept payment through PayPal.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Best Wishes

Paul Budding

God first

Dying Peaceful without Fear of that day

Preface

My name is Roy William Perry III I am 49 years old and life has been a wild one. I was told I might have polio and then they not sure at age 4. In first grade I was told I had spinal Meningitis than I did not have it again. I was told I had Multiple Sclerosis and then I did not have it.

Can you see how this getting old and the doctor had no answer until I had another Spinal Tap. They it was mini stokes all the time and I going to have a big sooner or later. While it came when I was 49 years old. I was not able to talk for nine days but it got better for now.

So I know something about life and death I want to pass all knowledge I can before I die. I also have study the bible and books about death like The Book of the Death wrote by the Egyptians. I hope you enjoy my book I put a lot time it.

My mothers death makes me Watchers, and gives me some knowledge that others might not have yet. My uncle Jack was close to me, but my uncle Paul I just know who he was I learn a lot from, their deaths.

Roy William Perry III

Dying Peaceful without Fear of that day

Chapter 1

Your birth!

It is your birthday today this the day you were born into has a flesh kind. You will cry for first time today you will be a newborn baby. You take youre your first breath of air when you cry out a victory cry.

You were created from an egg in your mother womb a new child for the world. It took about nine month in you mothers womb were you growth inside your mother womb. The baby was fertilized by, your father the male partner of two parents, who may help your mother.

This new life is you and were made by the womans body which live the mothers body until came either by nature birth by the help of a doctor. As you growth as a young child the image you look a lot like your mother and father.

We were part a family with a father and mother or some one taking place of them. You have been, warn that you can die so you care for your body. You are flesh and bone and your will break if you do not take of it.

You are part of the human race greater than animal as part of mankind. You are fleshly kind which said to be the image of God but do not understand what it all means. Even that you have heard about God you do not understand yet.

You are told the different from right and wrong but to you it is a battle to go to sleep on time. You cannot drink after a set time and you have to go to sleep. You do not understand why your life style is this way no matter what it is.

You have birthday after birthday as you get older and you begin school, which you like or do not. After school you begin the work and after school you are in teens. Then their adult life from then is old age and you face death.

You hear about God or not in your lifetime but your old and you think about your life. What will you pass on to the next generation that can you remember your life story from a picture or memory of you and anyway. What do you have that can give your family a thing to remember you by.

Whether you think on life after the possible outcome is there whether you believe in life after death the possible outcome is there. Death to you at any time you can prepare for or not it up to you its all in your power because death will come.

It better to face the real truth about you will not live forever in the flesh form. Even if you believe in life after death it not say which kind of life you will have. So what ever you do it up to you and only you.

Which kinds of outcomes are there to death?

Do you want to believe in life after fleshly death or do you believe once it is over there is nothing more? It is up to you what you desire to believe in your heart while I found comfort in believing in life after death you may not. But it totally up to you so give it some deep thought.

How do you want your friends and family to remember your life by, in pain that they will never see you again or with hope of seeing you again some day? Do you want them to cry to when they think its about the time, you spend together with them or look to spend time with you again when you get up?

What will you want them to do if you spend time sick in bad or a hospital bed waiting on your hand and foot or visit while you they can comforting you? Will you help them find comfort in your memories of times you had together or will be only you?

It is all up to you as to what you will do and how you will deal with your love ones whether you will understand that they are in pain too or you will only dwell on what happening to you here and now. Now I cannot tell you what to do but I would hope you give it some deep thought about your family.

So what kinds of outcome do you want your family to believe in life after death or that there is nothing more and youre gone for good. Make up your mind while there is still time to leave them with comfort of seeing you again or sadness because youre gone forever.

Your Death!

Its the day of your death and you will die today but are you ready for this day and how have you prepared your love ones for this day. Whether you know it or not today is the day of your death will you enjoy the time you have left with the people around you or will act like a jerk today.

Its all up to you how this day goes which will come like a thief in the night so you can either live every day like its your last or live as if you are the only thing importunate. Are you a "me first" person or do your love ones come first in your life?

How do you want there day to go because no matter what you do it is going to be hard on someone whom you love and that loves you? Do you want to prepare them in the best way you can or do you want your death to be hard on them more than it has to be?

Some people will be hard on the hospital staff if they find themselves dying in a hospital bed where they must be waited on hand and foot. Whether you know it or not your death will be hard for them to watch knowing that they can do little to comfort you.

Facing these facts and making up your mind as to the way you want to act while you are dying and specially on these days the last few. Some of us know death is not many days off but others of it comes fast without warning.

How will they remember you?

There are many things people do so they will be remembered them after they have left this world but the most common one is having children. Some people write like I do and other will be remembered by their art, music, video, building in their honor, and the list is endless.

But will you be remembered for doing good or will you be remembered for the bad things you did in your life. Now if its not to late you can plan on how your love ones will remember you and the part you played in their life. Is the fact that your alive now with time to think on now matters how you want to be remember for, in your life in pain or not.

How do you think people will remember you when you are dead and gone? By the things you have given to others or, by the works you have done during your life or by the love you have shared with your family and friends.

Just because you mark your grave is mark it does not mean anyone will remember you after you have been gone one hundred years. Even if you become a famous person in your time it does not mean in a hundred years anyone will care.

I believe it not how long a person is remembered but the reasons why they are remember by and whom they are remembered. God words read he, will all ways remember you if you live love as Jesus Christ set an example but not all to believe in God. But it is up to you, only you, and only you.

Why even being born if your only going to Die anyway?

I would say the reason to be born even is that we will all die some day because the good times we will have with each other. The very things we will do together and the love we will have for each other. The joy we will have together and the happy memory we will have.

God said he created us so he would have someone to love which the same reason some people make children to love. Now yes not everybody cares about God or wants children in their life but most people want to be love by someone. No one wants to be alone without some one to love.

One man might say we are born for a reason and the reason is to fill the earth with our kind, another one might say the reason that is the order of things, and we could come up with endless reasons. But the fact we must deal we are born only to die one day with hopes there is life after death by some of us.

A woman might say we die for a reason and the reason is to make room for the next generation of people, death is just part of life, and we could come up with endless reasons. But if we face facts death is a big part of being human but so is the hope for life after death by some of us. What wrong with that it gives us hope for more than at the end.

If you get down to it, we are born only to die one day unless there is more to the plan then that can be understood naturally. I am not telling you to believe in God but a believer in God gives us a possible of outcome that gives us hope of a new beginning.

Becoming a witness to death!

Chapter 2

I have it finish on the net you can read it here there 40 chapters

http://year2027bibletimeline.wetpaint.com/page/Dying+Peaceful+without+Fear+of+that+day%21

move down the scroll button until you see

I would like put in print but I am not that good of writter

thank you

with love and a Holy kiss Roy

The moonlight painted pictures
On a mist embroidered night,
Like dancers on a curtain
When their movements meet the light,
And each movement masqueraded
With such symmetry and grace,
Every dream that ever wandered through
The smile upon your face.

Then the wine glass that you lifted
Shone with such a crimson fire,
Like the ruby tinted renaissance
Of dreams that we desire,
And a single diamond trickled
From the heaven in your eyes,
And its sacred presence touched me
With a sense of soft surprise.

As our lips met in that instant
I felt such a sense of pain,
Like a wish that lost forever
In the mist embroidered rain,
Where I saw you in the moonlight
And I felt your tender touch,
For I just could not remember
Anyone Id loved so much.

Then I sensed the curtains closing
And I felt you move away
As I stood within my silence
There was nothing I could say,
For the moonlight painted pictures
Faded slowly on the air,
Leaving only the impression
Of your presence drifting there

As twilights tired echoes fade,
The oceans golden tinted jade
Casts remnants of the day before
Upon the waiting silver shore,
And everywhere sun shadows play
Within the slowly dying day
Like dancing leaves they toss and spin
Before the evening can begin.

As daylight closes weary eyes
And snuggles down beneath the skies,
The evening speaks of dreams reborn
Before the rising of the dawn,
With all the elegance of age
Each shadow slowly turns a page,
And memories hark back to a time
When lives were held in painted rhyme.

Then joyous smiles and laughing eyes
And gasps of elegant surprise
Come dancing through those far off glades
Before each treasured vision fades,
Into the places that we know
Where memories drift upon the flow,
Meandering so wondrously
Upon that ancient timeless sea.

Then through the tunnel of the night
A far off gleam brought back the light
That once shone in the depths of me
In glowing shades of mystery,
And finally between the lines
Where poetry and life combines
I linger silent in the shade
As twilights tired echoes fade

Just a backstreetdreamer.

Hi to all on the site, my name is Keith Robson, and I write poetry. I live on the beautiful North Eastern coast of England, where I get inspiration for a lot of my poetry, which I first started writing the week after my Mother died, having never written anything before then, and I put it down to a gift sent to me. I was encouraged to join this site by a lovely lady of grace, Jennywren, and I will post a couple of my poems, so that you can see what sort of poetry I write, mainly in the style of the old masters. I hope a lot more people take up Jenny'e invitations to join the site, and also hope to get to know the members who are here already. My respect and admiration to you all.
The God of Love not Hate

God first

Wrote 04-25-2009

The God of Love not Hate!

Here I sat looking out into open space where all the truths are in the cool night where God walks and talks. O how I know my God loves me and everyone I know that I see and hear talk about Gods love.

Some know God loves but others say he hates too but stand up and say not my God but they do not understand God is a God of love. As I talk with them I try and try again because my heart for them to understand the reasons why.

People cry he going do this to the sinners but I in a still low voice cry the people do it them selves in the end God just sat the guide lines. Some hear my voice but some do not but do not give up because these are good and just people.

The night comes fast but I am not tired because I known the truth of the night it does not make worry I watch and am ready to if he comes tonight. Thank for reading my notes about my God with love and a holy kiss Roy.
